This was my second overall summit of San Jacinto and my first without “cheating” by taking the tram. This was also the my 4th peak of the original six and my 12th overall of this year's challenge.

I stared at Humber Park on the Devil's slide trail just before 7am and the parking lot was already starting to fill up. Despite the crowed parking lot, the trail was mostly secluded until I reached the summit spur trail. From here, the trail and the the peak was pretty crowded and I can only imagine what it would have been like if the tram was running. In talking with others it seemed most people had come up the Marion Mountain trail.

It was a warm day, but never felt too hot as the trail had plenty of shade and only had two sections that were fully exposed (the accent to Wellman's Divide and the final 1.5 miles to the peak). There was also a flowing spring just below Wellman's Divide and it was nice to filter and top off on water on the way down.

Overall it was a great day and a great route to summit San Jacinto.
