Soggy, muddy, wet, rainy…. Perfect!!!! Today’s hike was awesome in a completely different way. Because of the rain the crowds were non-existent and I was able to test out some new rain gear. Rose Peak is an enjoyable hike through the hills and tops out on the highest point in Alamdeda county. Though today because of the wind and rain the views were limited. This hike wraps up my Solo NorCal Six Pack for 2019 but I’ll be back on all of these trails many more times this year!!

  1. Wow! This is impressive! I’d love to hear any tips you have for Rose Peak in regards to timing. What pace did you keep? What time did you start? I didn’t get to this one last year, and some of my normal hiking crew is put off because they are afraid we aren’t going to make it in and out in daylight hours. I’m tempted to solo it. If you’re on AllTrails, I’d love to see your hike!

    1. You can find me on All Trails (David Warner) but I started out from Sunol Regional Park at 8am. My pace overall was just over 20 min/mile and took a little over 7 hours. I parked by the visitors center so you can save a mile by driving all the way to the gate. The hike is easily doable during daylight hours just start when the gates open and you’ll be fine. Hope this helps.
