What a little gem this trail turned out to be! I set off from Sunol Regional Wilderness at 9am and headed towards Little Yosemite Valley which was pretty cool and there were wild turkeys running around. After walking along a fire road for awhile I turned uphill and was greeted by grazing cows and tons of squirrels dashing all over the place. The weather today was overcast and cool maybe 60 degrees and pretty windy. As I created the rolling hills though the wind blowing up from the water was actually cold and I was thankful I had my soft shell with me. By the time I reached the summit it was lunchtime and I took a moment to realize I hadn’t seen ANYONE all day. I had the peak to myself and an entire day of hiking in complete solitude that I haven’t experienced in either the NorCal or SoCal Six Pack trails before. Spending 7 hours to go 19 miles trekking around to a peak and back down in quiet reflection and solitude made this one of my favorite hikes to date!!! One left to complete all six!
