Well I finally bagged this mountain peak and I felt a great sense of relief afterwards! It was a feeling between rapture and pain! I climbed this mountain with my daughter and good friends/hiking buddies that were so supportive all the way, (10.5 hours round trip) which made this brutal climb lots better when shared with family and friends. The last mile, (the red mile) is as bad as everything you've heard, at the time I thought I better make it because I will never ever do this ever again! Ha, now as I reflect back, I guess it wasn't as horrible and I might probably do it again, maybe…lol! We started our hike in the dark with our headlamps, 6:10 am, feeling pretty good as we begin our slow and steady climb. I experienced waves of altitude sickness, not terrible, but not great either… I pushed through it. It was really cold at the top and a little windy, but wow breathtaking! Cloud cover rolled in and out, but was able to view some stunning views and capture some amazing photos!
