We want to start our new year off with a bang so we decided to do the first of the six peaks New Year’s Day.  Mt. Wilson.  Everything was against us from the beginning there was a government shut down so we could not park our cars at chantry flat .  So we decided to do Mount Wilson Trail via Sierra Madre .  Then there is the weather it was going to be 27° and the wind was 40 to 60 miles an hour or so it was supposed to be .  It seem like everything was against us .  We decided to do it anyway and we darned our best layers. It turned out to be a beautiful day not chili at all just cool and the wind was not bad at all.  The trail was pretty easy very well marked .  It took us eight hours plus.  The views were amazing and I’m looking forward to the other five peaks .  Great way to start off our new year .
