We anticipated a warm day so we headed up early in the morning. Soon enough we realized that the 10 mile drive up to the parking area can be a challenge for those with motion sickness. Early in the morning parking is not an issue, but the Adventure Pass in needed. The trail head was across the street from the parking lot and it was easy to access. The trail had some wild flowers, but one had to be careful not to step on them since they were tiny purple flowers.

There was a huge amount of bees and I got to see just a few bumble bees. I didn't realized that fireants are so quick at climbing on boots and I was bit by one. Good thing is that we carry first aid kits and my friend Karen had some anti-sting spray that made it bearable.

The trail is easy to follow and there are 2 posts that guide you to the peak. We found a temporary deck with a chair and we took turns sitting for a bit. As we approached the peak we could see some red strawberries on a bush, and we were glad to know we were close to the peak. To our surprise they were in fact strawberries, but they were made out of paper. There were three signs to chose from for the picture.

Couple of out friends were above and beyond and brought strawberries for everyone to eat at Strawberry Peak. I thought that was so kind and gracious of them.

We headed down after a brief brake because it was 10:30 and the weather was starting to get hot.
