A glorious day on Strawberry Peak.  A bunch of snow/ice throughout the trail.

First note.  If you are going to hike it over the next few weekends, get there early.  Like daybreak.  Only one of the two parking lots are open, the smaller one.  Road to Mt. Wilson at the turnoff is closed.  When we finished our hike around noon, there was a line of cars waiting to park.  And the line was about 2 miles long.

As for the hike itself.  In the morning, there was plenty of snow and ice along the trail.  In the afternoon, most of the ice melted off.  I used crampons for the hike, and it made it a lot easier.  But there were some that went completely spikeless.  Even with spikes, people were slipping, especially along the steeper areas of the hike.

Weather wise, even with lots of snow on the ground, it was comfortable to shedding layers warm.

Here is a full video of the hike.
