Our group met up at 6am at Red Box Trailhead. I think it was in the 50s when we got started. We were above the cloud level and the views were amazing. There were yucca blooms everywhere. We also saw Indian paintbrushes, sticky monkey flower bushes, and other wildflowers I haven't identified. We got detoured in the wrong direction at the boards on the ground which spelled out “Love”. After we lost the trail, we knew we were going the wrong way and turned around. The rest of the trail was easy to follow. There were some large rocky sections we had to climb, and they were trickier on the way back. At the peak, we saw lizards, butterflies, and a small snake. On the hike back, it started to feel warm. This hike did not have much shade. I ended up drinking all my fluids by the time we got back to the parking lot.
