Strawberry Peak via the Mountaineers Route

Trailhead:

The trail from Colby Canyon to Josephine Peak (added miles and peak) were pretty easy to follow. Once we returned to the base of the trail going up to the 1st class 3 rock scramble the trail was a bit more challenging to follow. The two class 3 rock scrambles are no joke! I would not recommend this route to the average hiker. Stick with the Red Box route unless you are 100% percent certain of your ability as a rock scrambler. For me there was no turning back once you started the rock scrambles. The only choice was to continue up toward the peak. Don't do it on a hot day either. It will take it's toll. Temps for us reached into the 90's. I had one hiker who suffered from a slight case of heat exhaustion and one with nausea. Both as we were coming down. Everyone came close to running out of water, so as I always say, bring more water than you think you will need. Tough day, but very rewarding for all of us.
