Great hike today, even while nursing my COVID Calf (Calf Strain). This was my 4th peak of this years SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. I met up with my partner Karen just before six am at the Red Box Picnic Area / Parking Lot. Believe it or not, the lot was almost completely full before 6am. Mostly due to a rather large group of 42 hikers. Luckily, we stepped off before they did and even with my very slow pace today we managed to stay in front of the group. Even without the large group the trail was extra busy today. Coming down I don't think I have ever seen as many people on the trail as I did today. Speaking of the trail, it was in great condition and the weather was perfect. Cool with a slight breeze on our ascent and warm (about 75 degrees by 10am) with a slight breeze on our descent.
