I headed up on a beautiful Friday morning to the Ice House Canyon parking lot. It was about 3/4 full at 7 am. I headed up through the canyon with a slight chill in the air that quickly evaporated as I warmed up. It was an easy hike up to the notch which I have done many times before. This was yet another solo hike as almost all of mine are. A nice break at the notch then onto Ontario Peak. A small amount of snow was still hanging on at Kelly’s Camp. It was a gorgeous hike above the tree line to the peak. Spent about 30 minutes at the top relaxing having a bite to eat. There were several others all at the top. After the obligatory summit photo was taken (thank you to the other group for taking mine) I headed back down. In all it took 7 1/2 hours including breaks for the round trip. It was perfect weather and couldn’t have been a nicer day.
