This was our second hike of the day after doing an early morning hike of Wasson Peak. Since we made the drive from Phoenix my son and I decided we would do both hikes in a day. Tiring day but well worth it. It was a beautiful day for hiking. Almost right away the trail starts stair-climbing and the views of the mountain were breath taking. I wasn't sure I would make it to the summit…..the cables sounded daunting to me. With the encouragement of my son we took it slow and steady to the top. Not sure I would have done it on my own without some encouragement and help from my son. I've never felt so good about tackling something I was a bit nervous to do. Instead of a Rocky Mt. High I had a Picacho Peak high for the remainder of the day!!!
