I received this SixPackofPeaks challenge from two of my close friends as a Christmas gift to hike all six of them as a group. What a perfect gift!! This was my first time hiking Mt Wilson and it truly was a day to remember. I researched the hike prior to our adventure and followed all the guided information from The Hiking Guy. I even downloaded his turn by turn instructions to a Note on my phone just in case we lost signal – THANK YOU Hiking Guy for the detailed instructions. We started the hike at 5:40am from the Mt Wilson Trail Park. Weather was in the high 40's when we left and around high 60's when we finished. The trail was easy to navigate along the way, mostly dirt with some areas of gravel and large rocks. I wore my regular running shoes which was fine for the climb up but not for the way down. I plan to invest in some trail running shoes for the remainder of the peaks. I slipped more than a handful of times and also fell once, which made for a fun laugh. 🙂 When we arrived at the top, my girlfriends and I spent a good 30 minutes or so taking pictures and feasting on some yummy snacks/food to celebrate. The views were AMAZING! It was the BEST day ever with these four women. Can't wait for our next summit together!!
