Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Decided to take new trail up and down as old trail sounded just out of my expertise. Majorityf the way up was absolutely beautiful, enjoyed the amount of trees and the light snowfall that we encountered. It was steep but doable up until you get to that Boulder field near the top.

The last scramble to the top is terrifying if you are not prepared. Highly recommend poles and microspikes… I was using yak trax, which I didn't realize were broken until I put them on when we reached the first bit of snow. There's a very little to grip on when you're in the snow heading up in those last hundred feet or so. But made it to the top! Extremely rewarding, absolutely breathtaking views, so worth the experience. Had a sip of mailbox beer and it was the best beer I've had in a long time!

Heading down with was no piece of cake either… Legs were on fire, Just completely tired by the time got to the car. We set out at 9:40, summited at 12:50 returned about 3:50.

Planning to return in early fall to try old trail… Maybe
