Solo hike to one of my fave hikes—San Jacinto Peak (10,834’) via Palm Springs Tramway. The tram has finally reopened with COVID restrictions and I wanted to support its re-opening. The tram is a historical civil engineering landmark and dubbed as the 8th wonder of the world.
During COVID, each tram only allows 12 passengers each time (compared to 60 during normal operation). I got lucky and got an 800am ticket online.
The Forestry people have also been very busy reconstructing trails and even made beautiful new trail signs along Long Valley and Round Valley.
And behold, I was the first one on the summit this day. That never ever happens ????. #hikebeyondthehills
