Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Hiked Mt Washington with my friend as a part of Presidential Traverse which is 20ish miles long hike and it's rated as one of the most difficult in the Whites. More info about this Traverse at https://sectionhiker.com/great-hikes-a-presidential-traverse/ .

Started around 6am. Wheatear was changing throughout whole day. It went from windy, snowy and cold to beautiful undercast with some amazing views.

As we summited Mt Washington, weather turned to worst, so rest of our hike was cold with snow and some strong wind gusts.

Ended our hike around 4:30pm at Crawford Notch.

  1. Wow! You guys are impressive. What were the snow conditions like? Was it pretty firm (i.e. no post-holing)?

Sounds like you averaged about 2 MPH, which is awesome for such a challenging hike even in summer. Kudos!
