Hike Log

The Rockies

Trailhead:

Icehouse Canyon

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were an annoyance

Snow:

Snow free

There was a ton of sun exposure, it was super hot, there were a lot of bugs and we saw two rattle snakes as well, the trail is tremendously rocky and my feet were killing me towards the end. This is a heavily populated trail, so you have to constantly make room for people to pass you on the way up and down. There is a creek/natural spring for the first and last mile which is nice. We logged 13.4 miles from leaving and returning to our car. You must get there early to get a parking spot and beat some of the heat.
