Since we have hiked San Gorgonio via Vivian Creek multiple times we opted for Fish Creek this time. Well, let me tell you, if you want remote, hike this one. After almost 8 miles of driving on a dirt and bumpy road you will end up on a small parking lot in a very remote section of SG. We saw a few people on the campsite but not a single hiker till the trail crossed with South Fork at about 5 miles into the hike. From there hiking along the Sky High trail was very scenic but all of us started to slow down because of the altitude. We passed a few patches of snow (not hard to cross) and the airplane wreckage from years ago where 13 people died. 3 of the men actually survived the crash but they froze to death as the rescue crew could not get to them for 3 weeks because of bad weather and 12 feet of snow.  Summit was crowded with hikers enjoying the views on a clear, sunny day.   Hike down was longer than anticipated. We logged over 20 miles and 12 hours including all breaks and we took many. Will we hike this one again? Probably not anytime soon but who knows.
