We got the last parking spot at the Marion Mountain trailhead parking lot at 0530!  The trailhead sign there says it is 5.4 miles to the summit but that is incorrect.  It is more like 6.4 miles to the summit.  A few of the other signs/mileage markers were wrong as well and several people had commented on it.  This trail is no joke- very steep and tough going both ways.  The great things about the day were the weather was good and it is very shaded on this trail most of the way and the bugs were not an issue at all.  It was very crowded on the summit!  Once we were back at the parking lot there were cars parked all over and they were also in “no parking” zones.  Also saw some dogs on the trail.  both of these are no allowed but I guess there are no rangers policing the area.  It was a good day over all but a long one!!  My watch said it was 13 miles total, and it took us 10 hours including our breaks.
