I enjoyed this hike. Since I started at the Azalea Trail Loop and head counterclockwise I was in a green bushy trail it seems for awhile until I made it to Azalea Springs. Like 5 minutes after I started this hike I came upon and startled a huge turkey with 8 babies or so. They all flew in front of me and then I looked up the trail a minute later and I saw this 3 foot bird running on the trail. Pretty crazy. Then I just carried on and made it out of the windy part and towards the paved road. There were beautiful fields of wildflowers close the top on the last leg. I only saw one other person on the trail, towards the summit. I hiked it at 9am on a thursday so it was nice and mellow. The views up top are just amazing and beautiful. When I was there is was great weather but super windy up top.
