Started the hike to strawberry peak via colby canyon trail.  This was my first time on the trail and the group missed the entrance to the “scramble” part of the trail to get to strawberry peak.  We ended up hiking an additional 10 miles, making it a total of 18.5 miles going down to strawberry meadows and then up to strawberry peak.  It was so rewarding once we got to the peak, with amazing views of the LA and the other peaks on the other side.  Enjoying fresh strawberries at the peak was amazing while holding the sign.  Coming down the trail, we ended up running out of water on the last 4 miles.  We were very glad that it was not an extreme hot day.  We managed to make it safely to the bottom but we realized that this could have been a very scary situation.  Next time we will be better prepared with more water and snacks.  Met amazing people and furry friends along the trail 😉
