San Jacinto was my first Backpacking trip for my 6 peaks! my group included Stephany, Brookie, Isabel, Noland, & Eric. It was a cool experience to prepare our bags and take the tram up the mountain.  We stayed at Round Valley Campground and it was so nice to have some vault toilets at camp.  We backpacked into camp, set up, and then summited the same day. It was nice to not have to take the heavyweight of our packs off. Getting to the top was beautiful. I always seem to struggle after 9,000 feet of elevation starts to become a struggle for me.  That last two miles were brutal. Everyone eas ahead of me and I was in the back with Stephanie. We stopped at the storm shelter and Stephanie was experiencing pretty bad altitude sickness. She stopped there and I kept going onward toward the summit.  Everyone else was waiting at the summit. When I got to the base of the rocks at the top, nobody warned me that I had to boulder the rest of the way up. So as tired as I was, I completed the summit! We all took our group photo and some of the group headed right down and I relaxed a little bit at the top. It was a bit warm, but it was a beautiful view!! Then down we went.  I stopped to pick up Stephanie at the weather shelter. We finished and had a beautiful night under the stars!
