Headed out to the top of Mt. Pinos via Vincent Tumamait Trailhead from Cerro Noroeste Rd at 7am with a group of 3. Trail is in pretty good shape and very steep in spots. Weather was great. Started in the 60s, ended in the 70s. There is NO water on this trail. Bring all the water you think you will need to access Pinos from this side. Ranger did say water is accessible at Sheep Camp 1/4 Mile down the North Fork Trail from the Tumamait Trail. We can't confirm this, as we went straight up to the summit. On the way up we also added two easy summits easily accessed from Tumamait. Grouse and Sawmill Mountains (0.8M and 0.4M round trips respectively). Leave early in the morning to avoid warmer temperatures during the return. Most of the trail is tree covered and mostly shaded. Bugs started getting more annoying as the day went on but, they weren't bad, yet. The last half mile to the summit is exposed with no real shade to the top. At the end of the Tumamait Trail is a monument. THAT IS NOT THE HIGHEST POINT. Follow the road and proceed over to the relay station and solar panels. There you will see the survey marker. Return the way you came.

For unknown reason, Sawmill rock monument picture is upside down. Sorry. You get the idea.
