Started at 6:20am as soon as the gate opened to the park.   Nice cooler morning with shade coming from the peak.

The trail is rough with sharp rocks and vegetation.  Came to a fork in the trail (see pict) and got confused about which way to go.

Made it to the top in 2 hrs before the heat set in.  Started our way back down which is tricky with lots of loose rock and with that my hiking partner fell and sprain his ankle.   We wrapped it up and very slowly made it back down in four hours in the heat.   Overall, besides the troubles, it was a fun hike.
