(Also heard a rattlesnake shakin it’s tattle in the descent) Amazing views!! Hiked this one today with my son, # 2 of the 6 pack of peaks challenge. We arrived to the lot at 5:45 am, there was still parking available but not much. Hit the trail exactly at 6:00 and hit the peak in 3.5 hours with a short break at the saddle. Busy, busy, busy rocky trail (Sat) all hikers were kind and polite, and for the most part followed hikers etiquette! The peak….. Amazing, and busy with photo taking.  We were there for 1.5 hrs had a nice lunch and relaxed for a bit. There was a good sized rattlesnake just hanging out under a rock at the peak so be aware. (Also heard a rattler shakin in the short distance off the trail on the decline.) Descent was fun with some trail running but be careful of rocky lose surfaces. Lots of water in the streams which provided some relief from the heat around noon the sun was blazing and hot.  Back to the lot in 7 hours that includes the 1/2 hr at the saddle and 1.5 hour at the peak.  Don’t forget your adventure pass (we bought ours at Big 5 the day prior)  and a pen to fill out the park permit which is at the trailhead. Good trail would do it again and maybe camp overnight next time! Happy Trails!
