Hiked on Super Bowl Sunday and had great weather, about 68-70 degrees near Julian. Pleasantly surprised there was still some snow near the trail, and just a couple spots on the trail. We saw a coyote near the summit and lots of birds of prey. Stunning views of Anza-Borrego and Salton Sea to the east, and Julian, Coronado Islands to the west. Took the 5 oaks loop on the way down and it was a really nice detour that added about .5-.75 miles to the hike. A beautiful day for a hike with the family.
