Piestewa was a clear choice for my first peak of the challenge as I can ride my bike to the trailhead. The weather was a little warm in the late morning, but mostly pleasant. There were a number of curious chipmunks under a tree by a bench, entertaining hikers with their antics. As the summit hike is fairly short, I added on the Freedom trail to spend a bit more time in the lovely mountain preserve.
