We did the loop counter clockwise.

We chose to do Welch-Dickey because it was the closest mountain to us and we go a late start. At the recommendation of All Trails, we went counter clockwise and that is definitely the way to tackle this loop. The views were excellent and we did the loop in a little over two hours.
