I would describe the first 2 1/2 miles of this trail as moderate or even easy (It is a bit narrow and scary to pass other hikers but everyone was respectful and had great etiquette on the trail) but the last mile and a half to the summit was most definitely challenging.  There are areas that are a scramble up rocks and the rest is just steep. Two false summits are also a bit soul crushing, but the view from the top is amazing. Smog or fog or a combination of the two prevented an ocean view despite the clear day. Bring sunscreen, trail is very exposed.
