Hike Log

Who knew I’d actually do hike #2

Trailhead:

Icehouse Canyon

Trail Conditions:

ROAD:

Bugs:

Snow:

After hike 1 I was ready to quit the challenge.. summitting was so much harder than expected. But I acquiesced; I would try one more hike and then decide.

We arrived at the lot about 6:45am and it was full. Had to park around the corner and up the road. About the hike – rocks. So many rocks of all shapes, sizes and stability; I ended up slipping a couple times unexpectedly. As with hike 1, lots of other hikers. Weather was good. Not overly hot. Started in the clouds but they cleared nearer to the saddle.

This was one of my favorite hikes. Why? Because I realized I could do it. I can do it!! It may take me a bit, but I will finish. And the views… amazing. Even with, or maybe because of, the cloud cover this day. One other thing about hiking is the community – smiles, encouragement, picture takers, story sharers. So enjoyable.
