was one of my favorites!  After some confusion about the location of the trailhead parking lot (and some off roading) we started out hike.  You start the switchbacks right off the bat. I love switchbacks!  I think it makes the climbing a little easier. It was beautiful every step of the way. Trail was well maintained and clean. The weather was great. Skies were clear. Not to hot, not to cold. A little windy at times. Chatted with a lot of PCT through hikers. They fascinate me!  I love that they all have trail names. I am still trying to come up with mine. The last mile was just a steady burn with the elevation and the incline. Make sure to look for Wally Waldron the 1500 year old pine tree on the final decent to the peak. The peak was amazing. 360 views (great view of Baldy) and lots of great areas to chill and have lunch. Everyone wet encountered was so friendly!  Someone stole the peak sign and the flag was missing!  Not the biggest deal but it is always fun to have those little treats at the top.  The beautiful views made up for it.

  1. Yeah the missing flag is disappointing considering the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. I doubt it blew off because a friend had placed the latest flag less than 2 weeks earlier with metal grommets and all metal hardware, that was also missing and the remaining rings were not damaged or bent (as if pulled in high winds). We were there 5/27 and fortunately had small 1’ flags on our packs.
