First hike of the 6 pack this year.  Did the hike with recently joined partner Mike McConnell.  Started at Chantry Flats, out of west end of parking lot and then linked into Winter Creek.  Weather was ideal, and Chantry actual had parking, probably because it is Friday.  Trail conditions were great all the way up.  There were remnants of snow near and on top of Wilson, but most has melted.  The views were unbelievable – to the East, the next 5 of our peaks were visible including San Jacinto.  Over a haze on the LA Basin, the top of Palos Verdes, Catalina, and even San Clemente Islands was visible.  Way to the west beyond Malibu, Channel Islands were visible.   This is a strenuous hike – my Strava recorded 7.1 miles each way.  The trail Signs said 7.5, and my trails book said 6 miles each way.  Probably about 7.  We went out and back.   The weather was clear with high clouds, about 60 at the top, and a little warmer at the bottom.  I have Mtn Biked the first portion of the trail, but from Winter creek up it is a consistent ascent.  Upon meeting the Mt Wilson Toll road near the top, there was a major rock slide that may have happened earlier this winter.  Coming up the North Facing slope of Winter Creek, and few trees were down, but paths around have been cut.  This is a great hike, but would suggest it in late fall to early spring as it can get very hot in this area, and unlike the other 5 of the 6 pac, snow is generally not an issue this time of year.
