I have only ever previously hiked Mission Peak from the Stanford side, and I’m glad to say I finally tried the ascent from Ohlone College.

The trail was not much easier but felt less dangerous than some of the slippery segments on the Stanford side. The holiday had Mission Peak crowded – especially the Stanford entrance. There were high winds which pelted us with rocks in the beginning of the hike, but the wind and partial shade kept us cool. There were dogs allowed on the trail which I enjoyed 🙂 Once we got to the top the crowd wasn’t too bad and we got out photos with the peak within a few minutes and headed back.

Almost everyone was wearing a mask and keeping distance when able to.
