This was a difficult hike! It took us about 9 hours round trip including an hour or so break at the top to eat. The first part of the trail is in the forest and is mainly made up of a dirt path and large rocks. It was mostly in the shade and we were pretty cold so I would suggest bringing a jacket. The trail becomes pretty steep before exiting the forest section of the hike. The last part was extremely windy and the path was made of  loose gravel and tons of rocks. This part was longer than expected and the wind knocked me around a few times. Despite the difficulties, the peak was incredible and we felt so accomplished reaching the summit. We could see, O’Leary, Kendrick, Elden, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a challenge.
