The first 2 miles is very unforgiving. Breathing hard while powerhiking. I do not take breaks just because I do not like to loose my momentum and get my muscles get too cold. Planned to take it easy and hike it on the way down. Still nursing an injury from running too much. We took sukat rd. and it is a fire road. The top is interesting because there is an old dilapidated watchtower. A little scrambling on the real summit on the right. The watchtower is better. I decided to hike it down maybe 10 earlier with my group. Knowing they will run it down. To much surprise, took the right turn towards springs mtn trail. which is an additional 5 miles total to my plan of 10 miles total out and back. In short, took the long way. While my group is already celebrating at the camp.
