SUMMARY:Hiking Maiden Peak
DESCRIPTION:Maiden Peak sits just north of Willamette Pass near O’Dell Lake. The summit is at 7\,805 feet\, and can hold snow well into July. \nWe’ll be taking the Maiden Lake Trailhead from the east\, climbing to the summit\, then adding a short detour to Maiden Lake on our way back down. \nTotal mileage is ~10 miles with 3\,000 feet of vertical gain. You can find GPS details from my previous hike on this trail here. \nThe Maiden Lake Trailhead is ~1 hour 20 min. drive from Bend. If you would like to carpool\, leave a comment in the discussion. \nMaiden Peak is part of the Central Oregon Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge. \nWHAT TO BRING \n\nMinimum of 2 liters of water/electrolytes per person\nSnacks\nBug repellent\nSun protection\nPossibly micro-spikes; we will know better as the date gets closer\nLayers appropriate for weather. It can be cold and windy up top\n\nWe will meet at the trailhead at 7:30am for introductions and gear check\, and start hiking no later than 7:45am. \n
