El Cajon Mountain

Today’s hike was my second in the #sixpackofpeaks I tackled #elcajonmountain an 11.3 mile trip to the summit and back.

Crazy that this trailhead is just 15 minutes from my house! Yesterday I came out late and only got 5 miles in (had to turnaround to make sure my vehicle didn’t get locked in the parking lot.) I got an earlier start today to do the full hike but still finished in the dark, at least I had the foresight to park outside the lot ????????‍♂️ (the gates are closed and locked at 5 sharp)

I skipped the weighted vest today and tried out my new trekking poles, these are amazing and I can’t believe I hadn’t bought a set before now. My new Xero Excursion hiking boots were awesome and super grippy on all the varied terrain I was on.
