We started at Forsee Creek in order to take on both San Bernardino and San Gorgonio Peak I’m a two day 30 mi backpacking trip. This was hands down the hardest thing I have ever done because I hadn’t done a peak in 3 weeks and I have never backpacked with so much elevation gain. Day 1 we did a serious uphill hike to San Bernardino and made it to Anderson Flat to camp and I was so tired I couldn’t even consider going beyond that campground even though we were supposed to try to get to Red Rock Campground. Luckily, it turned out to be a great move because we were able to backtrack the next morning for water. The next day was brutal as we took on San Gorgonio for a 17 mi hike to the summit and back to our cars. We dropped some of our stuff off at the junction between the trailhead for the summit and for the South Fork Trail so it make it a much easier hike to the top. On our way down the south fork trail, the lack of signage was extremely confusing and we were worried we would go down the wrong path, but we made it back to our cars right before the sun completely set. Overall, the weather was great and didn’t pose any danger to summit.
