So glad my husband is doing these hikes with me.  I need his encouragement to make the ascent.  We had really good weather for this hike, not to hot and not too cold.  Goldilocks would have loved it!  Going during the week, we didn't have to deal with crowds.  In fact we only saw 2 other people on the climb up and 9 on the trail on the way down as we got close to the trail head.

Unfortunately, the skies were not clear (smog over downtown) so we didn't get a good view from the top.  The 100 in telescope is open so we did sneak a peak after having lunch at the summit.

We didn't see much wildlife on the trails besides the squirrels ( with really bushy tails!).  On the drive down though we saw a bear!  It's the first one I've seen in the wild.

Overall, a good start to the challenge.
