This is my 2nd peak for the #sixpackofpeakschallenge
Mt. Baldy via ski hut trail, 10,064 ft above sea level, around 4,000ft of steep climbing.
I did not expect a lot of snow at Mt. Baldy but still packed our microspikes and good thing we did cause we needed it at the last section. I hiked with my husband but he was too tired on the last push to the summit. So, I put my big girl pants on and started ascending on my own. I have a good level of fitness but with thin air and steep climb it was a tough one! I had to count my steps, catch my breathe and climb some more until I reach the SUMMIT! It was pure joy when I reached the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains. If you decide to hike Mt. Baldy please make sure you have the proper gear, check the weather and ask around about the conditions of the trail (I asked a number of people on IG and they were nice enough to give me informations and tips for safe hike). People die from this hike and there were two hikers that was rescued yesterday because they took a wrong route. It is always good to pack extra clothes and food just in case of emergency. I will be coming back #mtbaldy your beauty is absolutely mesmerizing.
