Started at 9am and finished at 11:37am. Took a short break at the top to find the summit and to eat and enjoy the view. The trek up was challenging as most of the trail was steep. The shade from the giant oak trees was a reprieve from the sun as we climbed. Gorgeous morning with a light breeze and I throughly enjoyed seeing all the wildflower varietals. As we gained elevation the oak trees gave way to pine. Once out of the trees, the summit climb was open meadows and hillocks of tall grass that waved quite majestically in the strong breezes. We had to don our jackets after some time finding the top. We took the Five Oaks trail on the way back, which was more narrow and made it impossible to walk side by side, though the expansive views were just as beautiful and worth the effort of the narrow trail.
