Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Great sunny day for a hike like Granite! First time and had amazing time.  Got to the TH just after 8am on Thursday, only about 8 cars in the parking lot. First 2 miles on the trail is snow free but once you get above the tree line, that's when the fun starts! Snow fields to cross but you can clearly see the lookout tower and your goal! No obstacles on the trail, there is a clear booth path and also flags to guide you to the summit. Just before the summit, there is a one little bit dicey part, very narrow path in the snow, with cornice on one side and rock field on another. Once at the summit, amazing views all around. Clear view of Rainier, Baker and Mt. St. Helens. Amazing day to be up on the mountain!  Only two other on the summit today with us, although saw few more coming up. Spikes and poles are definitely helpful. Hot weather, snow was getting slushy on the way down. Got back around 1:30pm.
