Amazing views, great trail but… Super hot and very buggy. I brought 2 liters of water and was well hydrated before I started. 3 liters would have been better. The bugs were really bad the entire trail. The bugs were so bad that I would have turned back if not for my 99 cent bug net from walmart. I wore shorts and long sleeve shirt with tall hiking socks. The horse flies would bite through the socks if I stopped to take a breather and with the steepness of the trail this made it more difficult. I saw a rattlesnake coiled up in the middle of the trail. I moved it off to the side because I had almost stepped on it. I also saw a california kingsnake on the trail as well. The 360 degree view from the top was amazing. Please consider doing this hike but bring more water than you think you may need and wear loose fitting long pants and shirt to protect from the bugs. If you don't have a bug net for your head, get one.
