I’m glad I got to participate in this again and summit this time around. Yes, I’ve summited Mt. Baldy but not while doing this particular “climb”. Last year, due to the number of hikers, there was a long wait from Camp 3 that made me decide to turn around. This year, I told myself I’ll hike as fast as I can so I don’t have to wait in line and set a goal to summit faster than I’ve done. I summited in 4 hours, but it wasn’t only for that reason that made me felt good about this climb. It was the honor I had to be able to spend a little bit of time with our injured war veterans that made this an indescribable climb.

Not only did I have the honor to shake their hands and thank them for their service, I also shared with them how they’ve inspired me to do this climb. And… my bib? They gladly signed.?
