My twin sister and I hit the road at 3:00 am and got an early start so that we would have time to hike two peaks. The weather was beautiful, in the 60s and 70s with a nice breeze. I hiked this trail with my pup last year, so I knew what to expect. The trail starts with a slow incline on Fatman’s Loop, then becomes more steep as you enter into pine trees. My favorite part of this trail is when you reach the aspen trees towards the top. We saw lots of beautiful butterflies and wildflowers on the trail. After a quick break at the top, we headed down for lunch and to journey towards the next trailhead.
