This was my second time at the top of San G. This was a huge accomplishment for me because the first time, I ended in terrible pain with blisters on my feet after 12+ hours of hiking. This time, we made it up in 5 hours and back down in 4. We started at 3:30 AM and hiked the toughest part in the dark. Wow, it was a little scary. Not because I thought I would fall and get injured, but because of the wildlife. I only ended up seeing a deer, but the entire morning I was nervous about stumbling into a bear..or cougar..or something! Luckily I didn't! We made it up in exactly 5 hours and 3 minutes. We spent about an hour and a half at the top and soaked in the view, ate a quick breakfast and played photographer for the other hikers. Then on our way down, we just enjoyed the scenery. We stopped and took pictures above the switchbacks and made it done by 2:00. It was a way better experience, no blisters, no pain. Well not like last time atleast. Does everyone have sore feet by the end of this hike from all the rocks? I was getting a little tired of the rocks at the end forsure. Either way, officially feel like I conquered San Gorgonio!
