I started up the trail about 9 am on the July 4 2020, with it being the 4th of  July and it being one of my favorite holiday I was half tempted to throw my hammack and watch the Redmond, bend, and Lapine fireworks. Trail was good slightly dusty but it wasn’t horrible. Ran into to quite a few other hikers that had taken on the summit prior to my arrival, actually talked to some younger high school kids that said there parents were takin on the 6pack challenge as well. As I got almost to the summit I ran into alittle bit of snow pack but just ended up skirting the edge of the snow and makin my way to the top.  When I got to the summit I was excited to see the view but quickly realized that the smoke took all my hopes and dreams away that opportunity But regardless of the air quality to the south East It was still worth the opportunity to experience this part of central Oregon on top of a mountain I’ve never been on till now.
