I took a three day backpacking trip with my brother over the 4th of July weekend. We began at the San Bernardino Peak trailhead in Angeles Oaks. We summited San Bernardino Peak on the first day and camped near Angeles Campground the first night. We summited San Gorgonio Peak on day 2 and descended down to Dry Lake, which was actually quite wet, for camp the night of July 3. There was a ranger there to check on permits and there were lots of flies that got a bit annoying, but we absolutely loved staying at Dry Lake. We hiked out of Gorgonio Wilderness and exited at the Aspen Grove Trailhead.
