A very early morning leaving San Diego in order to reach the trailhead at 7. Our goal was to do the 3-2-1 Challenge: Mt. Pinos-Sawmill-Grouse. The temps were not bad for most of the hike. Toward the end, the unshaded portions were warm. While there were bugs and bees, they were never a bother. The valley was a bit hazy, but that was expected.
Encountered about 15 or so hikers past Sawmill, but the main traffic was on the return once we past Mt. Pinos.
