Got to the parking lot at 6:30a and there were still some spaces open for parking. We took the Register Ridge Route in and out, and added Mt. Harwood as a second peak. We ran into very few people on the trail, and only ran into more hikers at the summit. Very little shade on the hike, so bring plenty of sunscreen, a hat and I went through 6L+ of water. Past the Notch, poles are highly recommended. The backbone was extremely windy, so hold on to your hats! We ran into very few people on the trail, and only ran into more hikers at the summit. Some hikers past coming down from the summit did not follow the “right of way” etiquette. The Notch is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a water refill station near the restrooms. I'm glad to say there was no trash laying around, and everyone was given a turn to take their summit photo.
